Billy Byrne
BE MSc(Mgmt), MA, Chartered FCIPD
Since 2012 I have worked as a freelance Executive Coach and HR consultant. I am also a member of the KinchLyons executive coaching panel and an associate faculty member at IMI where I coach on the Diploma in Leadership, Senior Executive Leadership Programme and on a number of Graduate Development Programmes. I also teach on the Diploma in Organisational Development & Change, the High Impact Leadership Programme and the Front Line Management Programme.
I was previously Senior Executive Coach at ESB where I worked directly with the Chief Executive and Executive Directors in building the Senior Leadership Team and embedding coaching across the entire organisation.

My early career spanned both technical engineering roles and line management roles. I also spent over 10 years in Senior Human Resource Management roles in ESB. I spent three years as Employee Relations Manager at ESB's Generation Business before being appointed to HR Manager. I then moved to join the Senior Management team of ESB International during a period of large-scale change, overhauling the HR delivery model and introducing a new Pension Scheme. My Human Resource experience includes a mix of both business level and corporate activity, including the design and implementation of Organisational Development interventions and major change programmes.

My coaching work ranges across all organisational levels, from graduates to senior executives, using instruments including DISC, MBTI Step I & II, Pearman Personality Integrator, EQi-2.0, EQ360 and ECR360. I have extensive Coaching experience working with members of senior leadership teams aimed at dealing with transitions, developing self-awareness and enhancing their performance within their organisations. I currently work with teams and individuals in a number of large organisations. In addition, I coach social entrepreneurs, graduates and job-seekers on a pro-bono basis and am an active volunteer mentor at Jobcare.

I hold an MSc. (Mgmt) in Organisational Behaviour from Trinity College, Dublin and an MA in Existential Coaching from Middlesex University. I also hold a BE (Elec. Eng) from UCC, a Post-Graduate Diploma in Executive Coaching from IMI/UCC, a Certified Diploma in Accounting & Finance (ACCA) and a Diploma in Project Management (PMI). I am a Chartered Fellow of CIPD and an Accredited Coach, Senior Practitioner level, (European Mentoring & Coaching Council).

My hobby is marathon running. I have completed twenty-five Marathons, including all six World Marathon Majors and two Ultra Marathons. My other interests include Philosophy, Photography, Art and Music.
